The Blue Mountains Aren't Just Our Destination — They're Our Family History

Diamond Tours is run by Rob and Alena Michail, and Alena's family story is woven through these mountains. Over a century ago her ancestor, Victor Levitt, ran the Hazelbrook General Store and Post Office — the heartbeat of the early mid-mountains community. He served in both World Wars, and the locals honoured him by naming Victor Falls, a cascading Hazelbrook waterfall, after him.

Most tour companies read the history books. Our family lived it. Since 2008 we've shared our backyard with guests from around the world — small groups, comfortable vehicles, and guides who genuinely know every lookout, story and shortcut.

I especially loved the native songs he played along the way; they broke up the drive beautifully and carried stories of Country that added real meaning to the journey. The history he shared behind each song made the day feel richer and more grounded.

He also took time to personally escort our small group of nineteen through Sydney Zoo. His familiarity with the place was remarkable—he seemed to know every keeper by name, and even the pet names of the animals. That level of care and connection made the visit feel intimate rather than rushed.

From the moment he picked us up to the moment we waved goodbye at the dock, Leonard made the entire day memorable. I highly recommend this family‑owned business and Leonard in particular.

Every tour departs central Sydney with three easy pickup points: Parkroyal Darling Harbour (6:40am), Sydney Harbour Marriott at Circular Quay (6:50am) and 192 Pitt St (corner of Pitt street & Market Street at Rolex - 6:55am) — all a short walk from the city's major hotels.

Your day covers Three Sisters in Katoomba, all three Scenic World experiences, the Megalong Valley lookout and a mountain village — plus Sydney Zoo and a ferry back to Circular Quay. Our Sydney private tours add The Rocks, Mrs Macquarie's Chair, Watsons Bay and Bondi Beach.

Our Blue Mountains Small Group Day Tour is $225 AUD per adult, $210 per child (3–12) and $100 per infant (0–2), with a lunch-included option from $250.

Private tours start from $1,850 per group of up to 6.

Scenic World rides, Sydney Zoo entry and the ferry return are all included in the price — and booking direct saves you money: code Diamond1 takes $25 off per adult on small group tours, and code PRIVATE takes $100 off private tours.
